Sad, sad event.  I'd bet there's a one word explanation to this: alcohol.

This news stunned me. I can only imagine how much Glen's death has rocked Terlingua. Such a small community where everyone knows pretty much everyone else, this has got to affect all who call it home. I'm merely a tourist who has fallen in love with Big Bend and the surrounding area and, having met several of those that call it home, I can truly say my heart is broken for all. :icon_cry:

Was there last week just after it happened and the whole community was subdued and trying to sort it all out.  Very sad.
temperatures exceed 100 degrees F
minimum 1 gallon water per person/day
no shade, no water

That is sad. LaKiva is my favorite restaurant in the area.
Everything is in walking distance if you have enough time.
