Marufo Vega is sweet!  Soon I am going to check out an area just across the Strawhouse arroyo from where the second entrance turns east.  It appears to be a big slab of mountain that has split off, but it's probably just caused by erosion. It looks really interesting and given the markings in the canyon in the arroyo as one hikes out, there just may be some interesting things in there:

I've heard the small ferns have a short lifespan; some friends accompanied us a few years back and these were quite the find for them.
Ah Big Bend, we will soon return to reacquaint ourselves in our ritual of blood, exhaustion and dehydration. How can we resist the temptation to strip ourselves of the maladies of civilization?
