Going out on 90, I feel like I have escaped as soon as I pass Uvalde, or even Hondo.  Great HEB in Del Rio and after that no traffic, great views, and points of interest if you want them.

Can't forget about the del rio heb! I usually buy all my food for the trip there. And if it's early in the morning, bbq tacos at rudys. I just wish there were bypasses around Hondo, sabinal, uvalde, and bracketville.

We've been stopping at the Rudy's in Del Rio when we go through lately.  One other little thing:  not that it really matters, but when you take 90 you've got one border patrol checkpoint and two coming back.  Going 10 zero there and one back.  This only matters if you have anxiety issues about these checkpoints (as my wife) or you are concerned about your stash being discovered on the way there (as my best friend).

I live literally in between the 90/1604 interchange and the 10/1604 interchange in SA.  I'm a few miles closer to 10 than 90 and, honestly, the time difference is about 20 minutes faster going 10.  Not a huge payout for a loss of scenery, vintage fun, and nostalgia.

Question: I come from Kyle down 35. What would the best way to get to 90? I've done the 410 up around and down around but is there a better way to get from 35 to 90?

The other option is to follow I35 through downtown SA to the I35/US90 intersection, but the mileage looks about the same.

If you're coming from Kyle, I wouldn't go down 90 unless you just want to.  That's a longer way to go for you, but if you must, you could take 1604. However,  1604 is a mess due to traffic and construction.  Stick with 410 or do as Jalco suggests.
