Lunch on the way to Bend

The 6  members of our Old Farts Club are making our annual expedition to Big Bend on Feb. 25 from SA via HW 90.  Does anyone have any recommendations for lunch at Sanderson or Marathon?  We love La Casita in Alpine but would like to turn left at Marathon.  Thanks a lot.

There used to be a place called No Name Restaurant in Sanderson (on the left side as you drove thru Sanderson on the way to BIBE).  On our way back from BIBE in December, the name had changed, but the restaurant was still there. We did not stop to eat there so cannot comment on food quality. There is always the Town and Country convenience store on the west end of Sanderson -- they have a food counter.

Thanks Hiker I think I know the place you're talking about and that's is probably where we'll stop.  We're going out via HWY-90 because we haven't been that way in years and we want to see the lake at the Pecos high bridge at it's current elevation of 1,118 ft.

Be advised -- they are working on the Pecos high bridge and it is down to one lane.  Coming back in December, we had about a 2 or 3 minute wait, so it was not bad at all.  Still like the Hwy 90 route the best as compared to I-10...
