I have many fond memories of BOTH of the old Cooper Store Photos as these were both my homes 74 years ago! When I was born the old rock store was my first home! Later my dad built the store in Persimmon Gap and I lived there until it was sold to the National Park Service.I have many stories  about my life and experiences while I lived at these locations and the surrounding areas. Welcome to the board!  It is great to have folks who know and have experienced the history of the park.  Tell us anything and all stories that come to mind.

Mr. Cooper,

Did you ever crawl back inside that cave on the north side of Dog Canyon? I am wondering just how far back inside one can go. Any memories about Dog Canyon would be great to read from you if you care to write them.

Thanks,

Flash

The links were signed by "Judy T" so perhaps they are siblings since she mentioned living there with her brother, "I lived there until my father sold out to the National Park Service and can remember a lot of fun times there with my brother and we met a lot of tourists."

Judy T is the oldest of my two sisters,I am the only son of W.A Cooper Jr.I am the oldest of the Cooper children that lived in both of the old Cooper stores. However my Grandfather built at least two other stores located in persimmon gap in the twenties. My grandfather was also a rancher in those days having moved to the area by driving his cattle overland, from property he owned in Shumla and Langtry Texas between Sanderson and DEl Rio,Texas.
