Roadrunners are so different from other birds. When I was a kid, my brother and I found a roadrunner nest near our house and raised one of the babies. It was very entertaining having one as a pet. One thing he would do that was funny was to fly down from a tree and land on the back of our family dog. Where ever the dog went, the roadrunner would be riding on her back like a little jockey. We always got a kick out of watching the dog run around the yard with the roadrunner keeping perfect rhythm of the dog's gait. His little legs would be going up and down with the motion of the running dog but his body was perfectly stable just like a jockey riding a fast running horse. He would also bow up if he ever saw what he thought was another male. We kept the top off of our Jeep on the ground during the warm months. The roadrunner would see his reflection in the Jeep top window and he would be ready for a fight. He would puff himself up just like the one did in the video. It was never a dull moment with that bird around!
