Did you manage to stay dry?

Would love to hear that water running, instead of traffic #$&!!

I was there filling up and taking a breather on Sunday. So cold and refreshing. I'd only seen it dry until then. Ahhh, to be back...

Update August 22 2018: no diminution in the flow through Boot Spring. Nice sunny day with a cool breeze.  You can hear the water while sitting at the picnic table near the cabin. Painted redstart, wilson's and townsend's warblers but the colima was awol.
Cheers,
Imre

This is fantastic news.  Wife and I were considering cutting one day from our trip because the water weight just gets to be disconcerting.  Hope the spring keeps running for a couple more weeks.

From what I've seen, cumulative rainfall for the year through August has been somewhat more than last year so hopefully it continues to improve.

Not really the average for PJ through August is 8.73 and right now it is at 6.42 and the Basin is 12.60 and right now sits at 7.54, so pretty much behind for the year so far.

Yeah, still way behind. Only about 6-8 weeks before the seasonal rains end. Unfortunately this is a dry year, despite all the enthusiasm for a little bit of water in Boot Canyon. That being said, any amount is better than none!

I got all teary eyed at the sight of water.  My back felt the relief of weight being lifted off my back...in the future...literally.

Meanwhile, over at the ranch:

Doesn't mean that there won't be ample water in Boot canyon but it might not bode well for later in the winter

Yeah, i think that's a function of age and not being uber ultralightists when it comes to the luxury of trail food :)
