No Water in Slickrock Canyon
« on: April 03, 2018, 12:36:20 PM »
I hiked to Slickrock Canyon on March 30 and found no water there, a significant change from when DesertRatShorty was there two months earlier. If anyone here is thinking about a cross-country hike through the area, you will not be able to obtain water in this canyon until at least the next significant rainfall.

Wow!  Good to know and thanks Jeff for the report.  There has only been a 10th of an inch of precip since the New Year so not totally surprising.  Probably won't have water again until sometime in the summer.

Good to see you back Jeff!  What else did you do in the park?
temperatures exceed 100 degrees F
minimum 1 gallon water per person/day
no shade, no water

Can you tell us a little more about your hike?

That's on my list for a possible day hike next time I'm out.

Hang10er, I will write a thorough report for this hike, and some of the other hikes I did, soon. I just wanted to get this key piece of info out in case anyone is counting on water being there as part of a backpacking plan.
