Another question to Miles Ears and Peter. Are there different route for the  pour offs marked in the both your caltopo on the Smokey Creek Trail? If no reroutes or around paths, please share pictures if you have. If they are like the ones in GUMO(Pine Springs Canyon), then I don't have to worry about it too much.

If you did not receive the link and still want it, perhaps you could send me an email (my address is in my profile), and I will try again that way.
Actually, only Casa Grande and myself can see your email address. Same goes for everyone else's email address. If you check the "Allow users to email me" box in your account settings for your profile, then users will be able to send you an email through the board's software, but they will still not know your email response unless you respond to them. If you want to advertise your email address, you can put it your signature or other fields that show up in your posts, or put it in your avatar, if you want to copy my idea. ;)

If you follow the Smoky Creek trail you will be fine.  Our first day and second days were on the Smoky Creek trail, don't follow the route on our last day.  Peters route his last day only followed the middle portion of the Smoky Creek trail to Mule Ears, same as our first day (green on my map).

By the way it is Smoky without an E.

vgeh:  I replied to your PM yesterday afternoon and sent a link to CalTopo showing my GPS tracks.  In checking my messages this morning, it did not show a sent message from me to you.  So this morning, I replied again to your PM and resent my CalTopo link, making sure that I got a "message sent" notification.  However, I still don't see either of these messages in my sent messages.  If you did not receive the link and still want it, perhaps you could send me an email (my address is in my profile), and I will try again that way.  Hope you have a great hike!

If you don't check "save a copy in my outbox" underneath the message text box, you will not see it in your sent messages.

How low are the clouds?  The clouds can hang around the mountains and you are on the north side too.  Drive on down to the Mule Ears trail head which will take 45 minutes and not only will it give time for the clouds to lift but it is usually much different down there on the south side.  Have a great walk, be safe.

I guess I'm unclear on what the impediment is. Too cloudy to hike?

What happens when it clouds up on you while on trail?
