Upper Boot Canyon - July 18th
« on: August 01, 2016, 08:27:06 PM »
A bit more than halfway up the Boot Canyon trail from the cabin, here I kept following the canyon a short ways up from the point where the trail first crosses over to the west side of canyon. This happens after the trail gradually turns from heading southwesterly to heading in a southeasterly direction.

This spot is roughly 3/4 of the way up from Boot Cabin to the South Rim Trail  junction. This is looking downstream and you can see the flow coming in from the left.  This would be a dandy spot to sit and collect some water before reaching camp near the Rim...

The point of showing these photos is there is no need to risk climbing the 25-50' down to the larger tinajas lower down in the canyon. There is water you can walk right up to not far from the trail.

Gotcha
Leave "quit" at the car.  Embrace the trail as your friend.  Expect to enjoy yourself, and to be amazed.
