The Friends of Boquillas Quilt Show will be Nov. 10 at First Presbyterian Church in Alpine. It is expected that as many as 140 Mexican quilts will be available for purchase at the show.

Quilt show to benefit Mexican villagers

TERLINGUA, Texas — When the U.S.-Mexico border was closed several months after the Sept. 11 attacks, life for the villagers in the Mexican borderland changed literally overnight.

She almost single-handedly changed the way of life for the small-town residents.
