Has anyone ever been to the festival? I'd love to go this year. It falls a few days before my birthday too, so it'll be the "Big Bend Nature Festival/Muse Birthday Celebration" :D

Greetings from BB!

Yes, I was at last year's nature festival as BBNHA's volunteer photographer.  It was a lot of fun.  I went on the "Geology Jeep Tour" that ended up in Pine Canyon.  Don Corrick from NPS gave the running commentary and discussion.  The other outing was a "Butterfly Walk" by Ro Wauer of Victoria.  He has several BB books published.  I never knew there were so many butterflies in the park.  I also did not know most of them are 1/2" in size... tiny little buggers.

The were other tours - birding, survival, emergency medical, lizards, etc... if you're more inclined to experience things first hand, the tours were great.  If you're more academically inclined, the talks and presentations given in the afternoon were interesting, too.

You know, that's so funny, because when I was looking over last years' schedule of events, and the people hosting and attending, I thought the same damn thing....and I was 40 then!

I've come to realize, though, that after reading some of those peeps work, and even meeting some of them since last year....what an honor!
So much to be learned from those of passion who have experienced much. And they're really not old, maybe in years, is all.

"Terlingua Time" is ageless....and priceless!
