Let me guess, everyone knew about this but me

http://www.bigbendgazette.com

Thought that it was interesting that the only grocery store in Marathon has closed.  http://www.bigbendgazette.com/blog/_archives/2006/2/1/1764804.html

Muse, what you say to packing up up and head-em-out and open up a grocery store in Marathon?  We can be shopkeepers.  Kinda like the shop keepers on Little House on the Prarie - not saying you are anything like whats-her-name - or maybe we could be like Ike and Clarabeth on the Waltons?  Probably dating myself severely here...

Heck, if that lady could keep the grocery store open for 25 years then they must have made some money - at least enough to survive on. :?:

Our grocery store will only be open certain days of the week, probably ought to call it a trading post or something.  I figure we probably need to take 2-3 days off a week each week so that we can head to the bend...
Maybe we could have a saloon too - whiskey.

So the grocery store owner is moving to Heath Canyon, now that's what I call retirement.  I guess she will do her grocery shopping now at Stillwell's store....

There's also a story about some land for sale with restrictions, Christmas Mountains...  Only $370K.  Write'em a check.

And for the rock-hound viper out of Austin @ UT, there is even an article on someone making a living with rocks....

And a fine singer, too!  He sang with Tommy Dorsey's band before hitting Hollywood.
