Think I'd rather take Ruidoso, NM:

Current temp:  87F
Humidity:  27%
Heat Index:  85F  ( LOL! )

Versus:

Oklahoma City:

Current temp:  99F
Humidity:  40%
Heat Index:  109F

It's all about altitude!  :)

Alamoso, CO expected low tonight 47F !!   Now that REALLY sounds nice!

I think the only way I could find 47F here would be if I could talk the manager at the local Braum's dairy store into camping out in their cooler!  :)

Homero, do you have a cooking tip for the hood of your truck, just got back from Santa Monica, CA visiting older sons, temp hit a high of 71 degrees, made me sick on returning to 100 degrees with 106+ heat index here in Richmond Texas. Think I could fry an egg on the hood of my truck, time for a cold one. :beer_chug:

It has been weirdly pleasant here in NC for two weeks at least. Only about 80 right now at 1:00 pm. Not complaining mind you just waiting for the real summer to return.
temperatures exceed 100 degrees F
minimum 1 gallon water per person/day
no shade, no water

The poor weathermen look bored here... no tornadoes to chase and same forecast for the next 7 days.

A cool front is on the way... high of *only* 87F in OKC on Saturday... hopefully the front will get far enough south to help you folks out in Texas.

I'm thinking if the weather is that nice, time to head down to the Wichita Mtns and do some hiking, followed by a healthy portion of a big Meersburger! :)
