That's ~ 15 or 30 miles!   Not on your life.  I'd have to be like d-ck Cheeney and have a portable defib machine beside me, an ambulance following, and a copter on the pad with the rotors turning.   (EDITED - that's funny, D-I-C-K becomes DUCK.  Speaking of which, I noticed on the "plaza/patio" that anything goes - even FUDGE.

Be sure and check out the course @  http://www.bigbend50.com/gallery/images/25Kcourseview.jpg

Now, if someone needs a sponsor or anything 8)

Good chance for you to become a sponsor Casa Grande.  Set up a booth and sell some t-shirts and mugs.

Here is who has already signed up.  Congrats to all of you.  You are a much better person than I.

As ex medic, I may drive out and watch you guys with a cold one in hand. Gotta stay in shape for Kiva, Boathouse, Store and Starlite.  I will begin training at local hideouts.

I did this run last year as a part of my annual winter Big Bend trip. It was a lot of fun (only ran the 25K) and very well organized. The weather was perfect. If you are a runner and love Big Bend this is the event for you.

P.S. that would be over 31 miles.  Can you say, Oh My Goodness that's more than a Marathon!

Although nowhere close to the distance from Marathon to the park and back.

25 km = 15.5 miles
50 km = 31.1 miles

Sounds like loads of fun, but count me out. My wife has plans on running in the Houston/Chevron Marathon (same day). In other words, I'll have to be here in Houston on Jan. 14th.
best regards,
TJ Avery

One has to be one tough individual to run 31 miles or even 26 miles on a marathon.

Let alone be it in BIBE - running the streets of Houston would be bad enough.   Not me, not in this lifetime at least, maybe next lifetime.

25 or 50K?! What happened to 5 or 10K? It would take alot of serious training to finish a 50K, more power to ya. I like undertaker's idea, if you need any medics I'd be glad to stand by. But seriously, does anybody know if they need medics for the event? That sounds like fun!

Running in Houston, you have to figure the added weight of your weapon and bullets.
