    I rarely participate in fund raisers like this.  BUT, Grand Companions may be located in Fort Davis, but they help the entire Big Bend area.

    The Desert Dane Puppies.  Just last week, your fundraising efforts allowed Grand Companions to take in the two ‘Desert Danes.’ These remarkable girls were abandoned in the Big Bend. They were thin, wounded, and exhausted. They are now safe under the care of loving people, treated for all ailments and resting comfortably in the Sweet Suites. The sad part of the story is that they were both pregnant and several of the puppies could not be saved.  However, they all would have died had it not been for Grand Companions.

    Grand Companions receives NO state or county funds--it is totally privately supported.  And it is a NO KILL shelter.  They helped me save two wonderful cats from along the river west of Lajitas (they were actually in Presidio County!) and their efforts have only increased since then.

    Please, if you possibly can, support this wonderful organization with $5 or $10.  It will be doubled and every penny will go to save abandoned and mistreated animals.  $5 may not sound like much, but this organization makes it go a long, long way.
    Let’s not stop. There’s still 10 DAYS LEFT.

    The new Adoption Center still has many projects to complete AND pets still need to be rescued. Your donor dollars will be used for:
     
    · Activity yards for our many dogs and pups. Staff and volunteers exercise our pets daily but they need more romp and run time for optimal health.
     
    · A spay/neuter facility.  Imagine what a difference this free/low cost facility could do for pets and families in our area!

    And the never-ending animal rescues!  Thanks!

Mucho Gracias to everyone that took some of their hard earned disposable income and made a donation to this worthy cause.  Got a letter in the postal snail mail yesterday indicating that the goal had been shattered and that a total of $27,438 had been raised!  Bravo!
