If you have not been out West "lately" along the 190 & I-10 corridor, you will be amazed by how many wind turbines have multiplied.  (kinda like coat hangers and rabbits).  These always fascinate me.  Anyway, point to this post, yep there is a point, recently I "ran into" a huge 18 wheeler hauling one of the blades North along Hwy 59 and my hiking/camping buddy saw one of the gear boxes along I-20 near Tyler.  Does anyone know where they are building a new wind farm at?  Must be somewhere in North or East Texas maybe?  These things are so cool.  We ran into a convoy of the blades driving through Fredricksburg a couple of years ago.

Hurricanes should just mean more electricity generated!  As long as the towers can stand up anyways.

They keep wanting to put these towers up in the Northeast and people won't let them because they would be an eyesore.  Good thing we already have oil platforms everywhere along the Texas coast here so a few wind turbines won't bother us.

Didn't they build an oil platform off of California that they disguised as an island?
