Wish I could have bottled the smells of the earth thanking the heavens for the rain as it began around 7 pm last evening.

Priceless!

I wonder if anyone's out on the OML during this and if they were prepared for 40 degree temps with rain...

Looks like the PJ station locked up at 6:38 last night. Temp was already down to 40 at that point, with rain still falling (total was already up to 0.5 inches). Up in the Basin it dropped to 35 overnight with 0.85 inches over two days. Should make for lots of blooms over spring break.

Awesome!  Headed there tomorrow with my 8-year-old daughter who wants to see ocotillo in bloom.  Sounds like she'll get her wish.

Getting our 1st bit of real rain this year here in CC;  maybe .25".  More on the way  :crossedfingers:

I went to Aransas NWR about 6 weeks ago.  The deer had plenty of graze - on the bed of what used to be Jones Lake.  If you'd dropped a match in the brush, the fire would have burned the whole place to the ground.

Oh yes! you could absolutely hear the earth sucking up that rain! It was such a sight to see the park covered in dust one day and then all washed and fresh the next! I hope my pics can convey some of the colors that were on display. It will be a few days before my report is ready, though. Not quite home yet...
