WOW! What an event!

It was great to see the officials on both sides present and seemingly cooperating on this event, then again
looking at the pictures it seems so silly that one has to keep their feet wet to mingle with friends. Baby steps I guess,
hopefully inching towards a truly International Park someday.

Voni thanks so much for sharing this with us!

Let's see, I see Kathy formerly of KKKK; ed29; Paul; and you of course. Any chat board members or people I should recognize there?
I think I see Cinta Cynta, but I've never meet her so I'm not sure. At first I thought Ed was stretching things right to the limit of the law in picture
#295, but after further scrutiny I think he's still on the north side.
Picture #211 made me tear up here in my living room. Is that the Terlingua teacher (or the Grandmother?) mentioned in the article?

Know of any way we can purchase one of those Tshirts?

I know, questions, questions, it's good thing you used to teach. ;) :13:

You did see Cynta.  She couldn't quit dancing ;) (picture 61)

211 is a lady who worked in Lajitas with many of the people and whose kids were taken care of in Paso Lajitas while she was working.

They sold out of tshirts that day but you can buy one online at:
http://ilovetexasmusic.net/store/products/voices-from-both-sides-tshirts

And did I say they're planning for May 10, 2014?

  • Old enough to know better, but...
This was really nice, Voni.  I hope I can make it in 2014.  Keep us posted.
Wake me when it's time to go.

I was very surprised when I saw this joyous event.  A quote from the Moon perhaps explains it.  Thank you Border Patrol!

http://www.drdougs.com/Moon.html

"He said, "We wanted everybody to have a good time, but just needed to be close in case anything crazy happened.."  We all need to thank the Border Patrol for making such an effort to understand us, and to tolerate us.  One reason we had a great time Saturday is because the Border Patrol decided to have a Hands Off policy.  If you want to thank them and encourage this behavior, you can always write Bill Brooks, Big Bend Sector, PO Box I, Marfa, Texas  79843.   They didn't have to be half as cool as they were. (Thanks Cynta)"
