Wine and Friends

I was in Central Market today and found a wine called Peregrine Hill.  The winery's address is in Fort Stockton.  The winery gives a donation to Friends of Big Bend for every bottle sold.   I haven't tried the wine yet, but I thought it was cool that there is a winery supporting Big Bend and the Peregrine Falcons.  The information at the store didn't happen to say how much they donate to Friends, though.

Peregrine Hill vineyards and winery is located one half hour east of the town of Fort Stockton in West Texas. The first blocks of the vineyard were planted in 1981 with additional plantings over the following four years. Peregrine Hill makes a Chardonnay, a Pinot Noir, a Cabernet Sauvignon, a Merlot and a Shiraz. These wines are made by Benedicte Rhyne a veteran winemaker with experience in France and California.

Peregrine Hill wines are inspired by the grace, the elegance and the admirable perseverance of the peregrine falcon, the fastest in flight of all birds, which is a native to West Texas and frequent visitors at our vineyard.
