Hoodoo, I miss Erle almost every day.  It was Erle's idea to hike the del Carmens.  He designed and inspired many of our best trips.  There are many stories not told . . . and hopefully some yet to be experienced albeit without Erle's sage input.

Got to admit although we started out mainly Aggies: Jim, aka Jimbob is a Teasip and David, whose chair you noted, joined us for the first time in many years to honor Erle.  We were three  to two, Aggies to Teasips for a couple of nights, although Erle added only occasionally to the content of the conversation.  (That's Erle in the small chair outside the range of the Infra-red heater . . . he didn't complain even once!)

Al

Aha I knew there had to be a legitimate explanation. My long lost friend introduced me to Big Bend almost 30 years ago and I too hope to have many more stories to tell less Bob's input. I'm still working on rebuilding the A-Team, but as you know, you either like it or you don't.

This photo appears to be the closest I can find as we hiked by Elvira's crack while on top of the del Carmen's.  Pedro233 probably took this picture:

Oh yes, La Troza de Elvira was a niceplace ti visit. I was up there,BTW. Before the floods of 2007 when the SDC canyon was fillled with giant boulders, right afterwards.

I'm going to stick with La Troza de Elvira and not Elvira's Crack, I don't want to upset the locals. You know what i mean.. :eusa_think:

Great shots, I have to say fellas..you all did a dam real good job there.

Please do elaborate. Every Spanish/English translator website I use returns: The log of Elvira.

There is really no insult involved in saying one name or the other, it is just local saying which i tend to respect. Elvira's Crack would relate more to Elvira's butt.  :willynilly: :willynilly:

Here's one of my favorite Erle shots. A straight scan of of a 5X7" print.  This could be a, "Where are we picture", but that might stimulate Pedro233:

A couple of bonus shots just for Homero, from the last century:  shallow cave on top of the del Carmen's.  We found a broken grass herachi and 20th century toy on the floor.

Shameless closeup of el Pico with Erle and Jimbob going, "I can't believe we just climbed down that,"  If only they had been with us the first year!  It took a month for my knees to quit hurting.
