Big Bend With Newbie
« on: January 19, 2012, 01:37:16 PM »
OK--April 2011--took a "Newbie" to the mountains; went to Guad Peak and climbed it at night with headlamps, so the camp site; then summitted in a.m.; then headed to The Bend; hiked Casa Grande; then headed to The Ranch; a whirlwind tour!  On the way up from Presidio, we went right through Fort Davis as it was burning, which was damn sad.

Here's a nice claret cup cactus I got going up Casa Grande:

Newbie--master of all he surveys?
