I did see some good birds. I did have a telephoto when i saw the Black Hawk, but a lady driving a riding lawnmower in RGV scared it off before I could get a pic. The rest of the birds, with the exception of the Prairie Falcon, were seen when I had wide angle mounted. The Prairie Falcon would not let me get close...

I thought the Least Sandpiper was cool. It would be very low on my list of birds to be expected in the Basin!

Wouldn't have expected anything different from the Rainman!  Looks like the Quemadas will open up with plenty of water this fall as soon as it stays cool for a while.  Only thing is now with all the rain, the Lechugilla (aka Mr. Mean) will grow back in full force and make bushwacking oh so wonderfully painful again.  At least we were able to enjoy it for a while.  Wondering how the extra rain will effect the wildflowers this coming spring.  Did you see them blooming in the desert, or is that strictly a Spring thing?

Flowers were everywhere. I would expect higher soil moisture can't hurt the spring season as long as average rainfall continues til then. Everything looks healthy and happy. All the cyclic desert plants are fully leafed out.

Wow, great stuff. It's getting to the point where we could have a Big Bend Calendar and a BK Calendar! Great Pictures. I'll be out there Oct. 7-9 and I can hardly wait. These pictures make it even harder.
