I thought I recognized Tanya in the red FJ!
You had a great trail leader right there.  Now I know y'all had a good time.   :afro:

Loved the views in the Christmas Mts. area.  Is that a private road?

Yes, it is private. It is owned/maintained by Terlingua Ranch.
You can contact the front office and make reservations to drive up it. They don't like long wheelbase vehicles up there. Otherwise they are pretty cool about going up there.

Great report so far.
I love the offroading reports. Hey, how long did it take you to do Old Ore Road?
I'm overlanding in the State park in a few weeks and one of our segments is almost 20 miles of rough trails up to the Cienega Mountain area.

I love the offroading reports. You are really going to enjoy the second half of this trip-report, it includes the Lone Star Scenic Expeditions crew (toyota forum), perhaps you will see a few familiar rigs.

Hey, how long did it take you to do Old Ore Road? Started around 10:30am and completed by 3:30pm, keep in mind I was taking my time and taking lot's of pictures... I usually go slow and enjoy the moment when solo.

I'm overlanding in the State park in a few weeks and one of our segments is almost 20 miles of rough trails up to the Cienega Mountain area. Are you in need of a tail gunner? :) I have yet to explore The State Park, I've been eyeballing the State Park map ever since I got back.

I finally typed up my trip report from the State Park trip in December:

I'll be going back this year, if all goes well   ;)
