Don't know of any trail, although while taking a break from canoing
have climbed up at various places throughout the canyon and most always
find a network of trails from wild burros etc. that will eventually take you
wherever you want to go - I'm guessing there is a way to walk it, or it's certainly possible
just to cross back and forth from vega to vega along the river, in places you can walk miles without needing to cross.
Also there's a network of roads from the town of La Noria, south of Boquillas, that run along the base of the del Carmens
paralleling the river to points downstream of Marufo Vega, they might eventually connect.  Also have talked to Mexicans
over the years who tell me they've walked thru the canyon from Boquillas to La Linda.

Of course there is a way to walk between La Linda and Boquillas along the river. There is even a very small village called Ejido Muzquiz (not the town) that is an obligated pass when riding thru.

And you are correct, there is a whole network of dirt roads going back to the days of the cable gondola mine operations. There is a Trip report about it here, that runs (not necessarily paralled to the river) very near the river and in some points actually touches the water on the river. Now in  very low levels from the pictures I have seen here. And as you say, it starts at Norias de Boquillas (not Boquillas del Carmen).

BTW, did you all know that Boquilla(s) stands for nozzle in english?....the Nozzle of the Del Carmen Canyon Winds, in this case.

Thought I'd replied to this before, but don't see it posted, so aplogize if this is a duplicate.
To answer the question, I've never walked through there, but have talked to Mexicans who walked
from Boquillas to La Linda and back, so it's certainly doable.  Having climbed out of a canoe and gone for
walks at various places, I can tell you that there will typically be at least a burro trail along the banks that switches back and forth, and some of
the vegas extend for miles, so easy walking.  Also there's a network of old roads on the Mexican side that parallel
the river, though at a good distance away.  I heard of a surprising number of people who hiked up into Arroyo Venado
and got lost.  Never went there myself, it must be a confusing place - as is the whole area.  Be safe and enjoy .....
