Thanks, Richard. Turns out it was the GPS tagging feature that was ballooning the file sizes. I fixed it. Maybe  :eusa_shifty:
Well, they're still pretty big. Keep in mind that the attachment feature wasn't intended for photo sharing. If I find time later I may go back and shrink them some to make them load faster and save on server storage space.

Excellent holiday reading
Leave "quit" at the car.  Embrace the trail as your friend.  Expect to enjoy yourself, and to be amazed.

Thanks for the tips, Richard. Sorry for the big images. I clicked the link but most of the options led to defunct sites, inc. your preferred Microsoft resizer and David's preferred alternative. What's your best recommendation for a currently available resizer? I'm an IT loser, so it'd have to be fairly simple to use. If I can find a workable resizer, then I can get my pics down to a size usable on the BBC hosting site and make life easier for everybody.

There is Dagger Mountain, then there is Dagger Flats. It looks like you found what I am now calling, "Dagger Couch."  :icon_lol:

Haha! No couch for old men. I'm going to do my TV watching from the soft sands of a wide wash.

Did you load the GPS map? Did it help?

Ah, Badknees, it's a great map, a brilliant map. I loaded it and pored over it endlessly before I left. I transferred the relevant spring locations to my custom maps, but I didn't take a GPS on the trip, only a GPS-enabled camera. My navigational choices will, in due time, as I lay out my story, become a point of great discussion, I suspect.

Did you notice that I may have discovered a new spring near the eastern mouth of Devil's Den. I included a photo. I have more that I didn't attach because they're too large and I haven't figured out how to effectively resize them.

With a wet year like this one, there are probably many seeps like that around. They probably won't last long :(

These are great words.  Often poetic, but technical, informative at the same time.  Bravo!  :eusa_clap:
